The Toronto Islands Residential Community Trust Corporation (Landlord) will be requesting Expressions
of Interest from interested parties to lease for non-residential purposes the Old Firehall Building on Ward’s Island (101 Cibola Avenue).
The Old Fire Hall was originally located on Manitou Road on Centre Island and moved to its present
location in 1968. It ceased being used as a fire hall in the mid 90s. From 1996 To 2023 it was operated as
a seasonal canoe club, running programming for all ages in canoe, kayak and safe-water operations.
It is a single storey building with a kitchenette, two washrooms, a locker room, two all-purpose rooms,
a built-in garage and a storage shed.
The current lease expired on December 30, 2023. The Landlord seeks a new five-year lease agreement to begin April 1, 2025, until March 31, 2030, or longer by mutual agreement.

The Landlord was established under the Toronto Islands Residential Community Stewardship Act in 1993 to manage the buildings and structures on the land described in the Act for the benefit of the residential community on the Island and the public, among other purposes.
